Repsol Continues Maintenance at Peruvian Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Repsol YPF SA (NYSE:REP) (Madrid, Spain) is continuing with maintenance on several production units at the 108,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) La Pampilla Refinery, located in Callao province, Peru.

Revamp work in the 32,000-BBL/d Distillation Unit 1 and the associated 24,000-BBL/d Vacuum Unit 1 has been ongoing since March 2010. Two existing heaters in the distillation unit will be replaced with a vertical cylindrical heater with heat recovery capabilities. Heat exchangers will be also replaced.

SSK Montajes e Instalaciones SAC, a Peruvian company that provides engineering, construction and assembly for domestic and foreign companies focused on project development and construction engineering, was selected to complete the revamp work. The work is scheduled to be finished in November 2010.

The 15,500-BBL/d FCCU has a turnaround scheduled for March 2011. The unit will be kept offline for 23 days. The 2,800-BBL/d unifining unit will have its 22C1 reactor replaced. The revamp will be finished by September 2011. The company is currently evaluating offers for equipment procurement.
