Russia's Kemerovo Region Sees Decreased Coal Production in 2020, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Coal production in Russia's Kemerovo region totaled 220.7 million tons last year, a 11.8% decrease from the 250.1 million tons mined in 2019. The drop in production was caused by the slackening of economic activity due to COVID-19, and the decline in coal prices, which began at the end of 2019.

Industrial Info is tracking 43 active coal mining projects, worth $702.57 million. By project type group, plant expansions lead with $363 million in spending.
