Aisin Automotive Casting LLC Commences Construction of $65 Million Plant in Tennessee

Aisin Automotive Casting LLC (London, Kentucky), a division of Aisin Seiki Company Limited (Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan) (PNK: ASEKF.PK) has started construction of a new $65 million plant in Clinton, Tennessee (PEC 25001766). The Clinton plant will be responsible for making aluminum die cast engine components for Japanese cars, such as pistons and pumps.

Messer Construction Company (Lexington, Kentucky) is responsible for constructing the new 230,000 square foot building, and began site preparation in February of 2004. Aisin Seiki Company Limited will supply the equipment from Japan and will select contractors to perform the installation in October 2004. The company expects the plant to become operational in August 2005 and will employ 90 people.

Aisin Automotive recently (PEC 23001504) expanded their plant #1 to 246,000 square feet and plant #2 to 250,000 square feet; both are located in London, Kentucky (Plant 1042223). The company is studying options to construct a third manufacturing building at the London location in 2007.

Established November 1996, Aisin Automotive Casting, LLC has an overall production system that includes the turn key process from die-cast to assembly of components that will supply Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.
