Currently, the final plans and permits are being drawn up to relocate to a new building that will be constructed in the Gateway Park South business park in Daytona Beach. This site will allow the company better access to freeways and customers in the region.
The building will total some 81,000 square feet with a 40,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse, a 4,000 square foot keg room and about 12,000 square feet of office space. A cover canopy area, truck loading dock, and case storage area are also included under roof.
The company selected local contractor Strasser Construction (Ormond Beach, Florida) as the general contractor and they are currently seeking bids from qualified subcontractors to perform the work.
The estimated $4 million project is scheduled to begin preliminary dirt work and site preparation by June of this year and anticipate moving from their current location by February of 2005.
Knotts Distributing founded the distributor in the 1960's and the name was later changed to Daytona Budweiser Inc. In 1995, Anheuser-Busch purchased the company and in turn sold a portion to today's President Kevin Bowler. The name was then changed to Daytona Beverages Limited Partnership. They are an exclusive wholesaler selling only the finest products brewed by Anheuser-Busch.
