Bayer CropScience Seeks Third Party for Operations of Planned Warehouse Addition in Midwest

Bayer is in the process of evaluating the selection of a third party company to operate the new warehouse, which will be located on approximately twelve acres adjacent to their existing pesticide processing operations in Saint Louis.

This new building is expected to span approximately 200,000 square feet and will include a small amount of packaging capacity and administrative offices. This nearly $3 million investment will assist Bayer in consolidating warehouse operations, and make room in the existing plant for future expansions or additions to formulation areas. Current plans call for the selection of the warehouse operating company by the fourth quarter of 2005, with civil construction beginning in early 2006, and a target move in for the fall of 2006.

Bayer has made significant capital investments in the region recently, with the completion of a major $40 million expansion of its Kansas City, Missouri plant earlier this year.
