California Based Concrete Roofing Tile Manufacturer Growing by Leaps and Bounds
West Coast and Rocky Mountain regions will see the company spending in excess of $100 million on new facilities and equipment over the next five years

Business is good for Rialto, California based Eagle Roofing Products, a division of Burlingame Industries (Rialto, California). In fact, it is so good that the company cannot keep up with demand for its concrete roofing tile products. So, they must expand, and expand they will. Expansion of an existing plant in Arizona, and the addition of up to three new plants to be located in the West Coast and Rocky Mountain regions will see the company spending in excess of $100 million on new facilities and equipment over the next five years.
First on the list for expansion will be the five year old Phoenix plant, which currently has three concrete roofing tile manufacturing lines. The company will double production at the Phoenix plant by constructing a new 165,000 square foot building adjacent to the existing plant and eventually adding three production lines. Eagle Roofing has hired Price Woods, Incorporated (Mesa, Arizona) as the general contractor for the building.
Existing underground silos will feed the new plant with sand and cement raw material. The raw materials are mixed and then fed through a high pressure tile extrusion machine, cut, cured in drying kilns, and then finished.
The company manufactures and sells most of the equipment that they use in their plants so they are self sufficient in many aspects. They also install most of their own equipment.
Eagle Roofing is also looking at constructing three grassroot plants. The company is waiting for zoning and permit approval to begin construction of a plant in Stockton, California. Price Woods will also be the general contractor for the 186,000 square foot plant.
Eagle Roofing Products started operation at its first plant, in 1989, located in Rialto, California. Eagle Roofing now claims Rialto to be home to the "world's largest concrete roofing tile manufacturing plant." Actually, there are two plants at the Rialto site and the company plans on constructing a third in the Rialto area, sometime after the Phoenix and Stockton expansions are complete.
The company is also planning to build a new plant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
