Both units were rewired because of insufficient voltage and were scheduled to return to service on September 3, 2007. Plant officials confirmed that an electrical bus problem will delay the units from returning to service for another week. The company is planning to have both units online by September 10, 2007. The station is located in Ontario and is owned by Ontario Power Generation.

The Pickering Nuclear Plant became operational in 1971.The plant has a generating capacity totaling 3,244 megawatts when at full load. The four other generators (Units 05-08) will remain online and run at full capacity.
