Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Northeast Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (NEPC1) (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the stator erection for Unit 4 of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group's (CGNPC) (Shenzhen, Guangdong) Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station on March 4, 2013. The erection of the steam generator for Unit 4 of the project has kicked off, according to an announcement from the CEEC on March 7.

As reported, the stator for Unit 4 of the project was manufactured by Dongfang Electrical Machinery Company Limited (Deyang, Sichuan), a subsidiary of Dongfang Electrical Corporation (SH:600875) (Chengdu, Sichuan). The stator has a shipping weight of 371.3 metric tons, and is 10.19 meters long, 5.4 meters wide and 4.2 meters high. Together with the weight of the lifting tool, which is about 30 metric tons, the total lifting weight reached 400 metric tons, the heaviest single piece in the unit.

The Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station is located in Hongyanhe Town, Wafangdian City of northeast China's Liaoning province, which is about 110 kilometers from Dalian City, or 270 kilometers to Shenyang City. The power station is the first nuclear power project to kick off construction during the 11th Five-Year (2006-2010) Plan in China and the largest energy investment project in northeast China.

Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Company Limited (Dalian, Liaoning), a joint venture of the CGNPC (45%), CPI Nuclear Power Company Limited (Beijing) (45%) and Dalian Construction and Investment Corporation (Dalian, Liaoning) (10%), is serving as the project developer, China Nuclear Power Engineering Company Limited (Shenzhen) is serving as the general contractor for the project, and China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Company Limited (CNI23) (Beijing) is serving as the installation contractor for the project.

According to plans, the power station will be furnished with six 1,000-MW nuclear power units in two phases. Unit 1 was commissioned in February 2013. According to the schedule, all four units in Phase I will begin operations by the end of 2015.
