Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Following the successful completion of the 90.8-meter-high main mining tower in SDIC Xinji Group Company Limited's (Huainan, Anhui) Liuzhuang underground coal mine, the No.72 Engineering Division of China Coal Building and Installation Engineering Company (Handan, Hebei), which is a subsidiary of China National Coal Corporation (Beijing), successfully completed the main mining tower for the Bojiang Haizi coal mine, which achieved a record height in Asia, China Coal announced on September 3, 2010.
The project consists of a rebar concrete frame-shear wall structure that is 92.15 meters high, with a maximum volume of 52,709.8 cubic meters, a maximum beam span of 26 meters, and a maximum support height of 17 meters. During the construction, the project department adopted an economic, safe, and easily operated construction technique using large moulding boards, with a combination of guide-rail type climbing scaffolds and suspension scaffolds.
The Bojiang Haizi mine is in Bojiang Haizi Town, in the Dongsheng district of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. It belongs to the Taran Gaole Mining Zone in Dongsheng Coal Field, one of the 13 key national coal-mining bases in China. The mine has been listed in the 11th Five-Year National Plan for Coal Industrial Development and the Overall Planning of Taran Gaole Mining Zone, and is to be developed and operated by Inner Mongolia Yinhong Energy Development Company Limited (Ordos, Inner Mongolia), a joint venture of VcanLand Group (Tianjin) and Huainan Mining Group Company Limited (Huainan, Anhui).
According to the plans for the Taran Gaole Mining Zone approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Bojiang Haizi mine covers 115 square kilometers, with a total resource reserve of 1,158.37 million metric tons. Initial production capacity of the coal mine will be 3 million metric tons per year. The mine is expected to begin operations by the end of 2012.
