Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Huber Engineered Woods, a unit of family-owned J.M. Huber Corporation (Edison, New Jersey), has cleared some one million yards of dirt at a 100-acre site in Oklahoma, in preparation for its newest oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing plant.
Concrete will be poured this month and erection of several pre-engineered buildings will begin immediately thereafter. Lockwood Greene (Atlanta, Georgia), construction manager for the project, will release bid packages this March for mechanical services. The heart of the new mill, a continuous press, will arrive at the site in May. The plant is scheduled to begin operation January 2004, and will have a maximum output of 600 million square feet a year.
CPM Consultants (2000) Inc (Vancouver, British Columbia) is the engineering firm of record for the project. CPM has provided complete design and engineering consulting to the North American and International Composite Wood Products Industry for over 23 years.
Huber Engineered Woods operates OSB plants in Maine, Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. Oriented strand board is made from low-grade tree fibers and is often used as sheathing panels for walls, roofs and floors.
