Construction of Hills Pet Nutrition's Kansas Manufacturing Plant in Full Swing

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Constructions is well under way at Hill Pet Nutrition Incorporated's (Topeka, Kansas) new pet food manufacturing plant on an 80-acre site on South Weaver Street in Emporia, Kansas. Construction is scheduled to be completed in mid-2010. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate 100 new jobs.

The project, which has an estimated total investment value of $100 million, involves the construction of a 300,000-square-foot building and installation of manufacturing equipment to process and package pet food products. Design-build firm The Austin Company (Cleveland, Ohio) was awarded the design and the construction contracts for the new facility.
