Dorel Juvenile Group is expanding development and production operations at the facility by establishing a new design and development center for its car seat division. Renovations are currently under way on 40,000 square feet of office and warehouse space, which will allow the company to increase manufacturing capacity at the existing plant. The new center will also include a crash-test sled and side-impact testing capabilities, as well as other safety-testing equipment. Demolition started in January of this year, and the renovations began in Februrary. Overall completion is scheduled by mid-summer.
