The Chinese government has reported zero growth of the COVID-19 coronavirus in many parts of the country during the past two weeks. Starting this week, most industries have resumed production, with the exception of those in Hubei Province. Firms have restarted 58.3% of construction projects, and about 70% of the factories have restarted, with about 80% of the employees back at work.
China is working to fully open ports, and the demand for bulk commodities such as steel, cement and building materials is increasing. It is expected that by next week, the restart rate of construction projects will reach 65%. Eighty-five percent of the factories are expected to restart production, and 85% of employees to return to work.
