Dollar General Awards Contracts for Indiana Distribution Center

Gray Company (Lexington, Kentucky) the general construction contract for a $70 million retail distribution center in Marion, Indiana.

Plans are to construct the company's ninth distribution center, a 1.1 million square foot facility on a 188-acre site on State Route 18, near Interstate 69. Construction is expected to begin in June 2005, with overall completion slated for December 2006. Building construction is anticipated to be complete in the early summer of 2006. Construction bids for the new center were awarded in January 2005. The new facility will include conveyors and five air rotation units, as well as other equipment, and will create approximately 500 new jobs.
