Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--EDF EN Canada (Toronto, Ontario), an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company (Paris, France), is in the process of having the Arnprior Solar Park built on Galletta Road in West Carleton Township, southeast of Arnprior in Renfrew County, Ontario. The park is being engineered and constructed by contractor Sullivan and Son Limited (Arnprior).

The approximately 312,000 solar panels are being provided by First Solar Incorporated (NASDAQ:FSLR) (Tempe, Arizona). The panels are being installed utilizing fixed pedestals. This solar park will be the largest photovoltaic power plant in Canada, at a cost of about $100 million. The Arnprior Solar Park construction was announced at the beginning of June 2009 and is expected to be fully complete and operational by the end of 2009. EDF EN Canada Vice President Alfred Kurzenhauser stated that contractors for any project like this built in Canada would have to have a local presence.
