CRUDE OIL
ExxonMobil Expects Crude Oil Demand to Remain Same Through 2050 - Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) (Spring, Texas) said on Monday it expects crude oil demand to stay above 100 million barrels per day (BBL/d) through 2050, similar to today's levels, a forecast 25% higher than top European rival BP (NYSE:BP) (London, England). The stronger demand projected by the largest U.S. oil company in its latest global oil outlook underpins ExxonMobil's production growth plans, the most ambitious among Western oil majors. (Reuters)
REFINING
New Pemex Refinery Processes 65,000 BBL/d in July, but Produces No Gasoline - Mexican state oil firm Pemex's (Mexco City) newest refinery processed some 65,046 BBL/d of crude oil in July, its first month of operations after multiple delays. The Olmeca refinery's production included 21,511 BBL/d of diesel and 8,775 BBL/d of coke, Pemex said in a recent report, but no gasoline. PRODUCTION
New Zealand to Overturn Oil & Gas Exploration Ban - New Zealand said on Monday it would pass laws by the end of this year to reverse a ban on offshore oil and gas exploration, and take urgent steps to remove regulatory hurdles to import liquefied natural gas amid energy shortages. The law would end the ban, in place since 2018, on exploration outside onshore Taranaki, an energy-rich region on the country's North Island as the right-of-center government plans to lure investment to the country's oil and gas sector.
