Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Baldwin Filters (Kearney, Nebraska) has started site preparation for the $28 million expansion of its filter product manufacturing plant in Yankton, South Dakota.
Site preparation began in October for the expansion of the company's 170,000-square-foot manufacturing plant. The expansion will include construction of a 100,000-square-foot building addition with the installation of supporting equipment. The expansion will enable the company to add a heavy-duty spin-on filter line and support domestic and export market growth for its filtration productions.
Bids for the selection of mechanical and electrical subcontractors were due yesterday. Building construction is expected to begin in December, and overall completion is scheduled for the fall of 2012. Approximately 70 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion, which will allow the company to increase capacity to produce heavy-duty engine filters.
Sampson Construction Company Incorporated (Lincoln, Nebraska) was selected to provide general construction services for the expansion.
Baldwin Filters is also planning a $23 million expansion of its heavy duty filter manufacturing plant in Kearney, Nebraska. Design is currently under way, and construction is expected to begin in 2012. The company is planning a 378,500-square-foot building expansion to the existing plant.
