France Awards 971  MW in Its Latest Ground-Mounted PV Tender

September 10, 2025--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--France has awarded 971 megawatts peak (MWp) of new ground-mounted solar capacity in its latest national tender, spreading the projects across 165 sites.

This round not only beat the 925 MWp target but also lowered the average winning tariff to €79 (US$92)/MWh, around 3% less than the previous auction, showing how solar power is becoming more competitive. The biggest shares went to Nouvelle-Aquitaine (333 MW), Centre-Val de Loire (194 MW) and Occitanie (110 MW), with developers Générale du Solaire (Paris), Urbasolar (Montpellier ) and ENGIE (Courbevoie) taking the lead in project wins.

The strong response highlights the steady demand from developers and the government's clear policy push under the PPE2 program (multi-year energy plan). With the next 925-MWp auction already scheduled for December 2025, France is keeping a consistent pipeline that helps both investors and regional economies plan ahead.
