Goulston Technologies Receives Capital Approval for New Plant Construction in the Carolinas

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Goulston Technologies, Incorporated (Monroe City, North Carolina) will invest approximately $21 million to build a new industrial lubricant plant in Monroe, North Carolina. The company will move into an 80,000 square foot production building and a 16,000 square foot utility building off Airport Road, formally owned by Rodel Corporation.

Goulston will also be constructing a 150,000 square foot building addition as part of the new investment. An engineering and construction firm will be selected this summer. Goulston plans to begin construction in the fourth quarter of this year. The new plant should begin operations mid 2004.

Goulston, which was founded 60 years ago, currently has a manufacturing and research & development plant in downtown Monroe City and will continue to operate that facility for the next five years. They manufacture industrial lubricants and are also the largest supplier of fiber lubricants for the United States fiber industry.

Takemoto Oil and Fat Company (Gamagori City, Japan) purchased Goulston in 1988. Takemoto, manufactures fine chemicals for the textile, construction, plastic and agricultural industries. Once the new plant is complete, it will allow Goulston to manufacture a larger range of chemicals in the United States.
