Idaho Power Company Begins Construction on $60 Million Expansion Project at Danskin Power Station

Construction of the project started this month and is scheduled for full commercial start-up by the summer of 2008. The project will consist of adding a 170-megawatt natural gas-fired Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation W501FD combustion turbine generator to the existing facility. The new unit will operate in a simple cycle peaking configuration, generating power when energy demands are at their highest – during the summer and winter months.

Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation of Orlando, Florida, will provide the turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services for the project. Inco Services Incorporated based in Alpharetta, Georgia, will act as the general contractor.
