Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In April, Jilin Connell Chemical Industry Company Limited (Jilin, China) announced that it is planning to build a complex in Inner Mongolia, beginning this December. The Tongliao Chemical Complex, which will be near Taongliao City, approximately 475 kilometers northeast of Beijing, is set to include production lines for aniline, ammonia, nitric acid and nitrobenzene.
Jilin Connell was established in 2006 with the construction of its first complex in the Jilin Economic & Technical Development Zone. The company specializes in the production of nitrobenzene, aniline, nitric acid and synthetic ammonia. Jilin Connell is hoping to boost Inner Mongolia's industries with the new facilities and become a highlight in the region.
Construction, which is scheduled to commence later in the year, will involve a US$592 million-plus grassroot aniline facility and the installation of other production lines. Currently, Jilin Connell, which has yet to decide on any contractors, is in the preliminary design stage. When complete and operational in late 2011, the complex will have a production capacity of 600,000 metric tons per year of aniline. Jilin Connell plans to use the latest technology China has to offer to meet high-grade production demands.
The nitrobenzene, nitric acid, and ammonia unit additions will begin construction this December and are expected to be finished during the fourth quarter of 2011. Information on the unit additions can be found below:
- Ammonia Unit Addition: Jilin Connell plans to install a US$592.6 million ammonia line that will produce 240,000 metric tons per year of synthetic ammonia.
- Nitrobenzene Unit Addition: Jilin Connell plans to install a US$592.6 million nitrobenzene line that will produce 800,000 metric tons per year of synthetic nitrobenzene.
- Nitric Acid Unit Addition: Jilin Connell plans to install a US$592.6 million nitric acid line that will produce 400,000 metric tons per year of synthetic nitric acid.
