Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Four Corners Power Station, which is located in Fruitland, New Mexico, shut down its 755-megawatt (MW) Unit 5 on Tuesday, January 20, due to a leak in the superheat section of the boiler.
Plant officials said that they are performing a thorough investigation. They initially planned to return the unit to service on Friday, January 23, at 8 a.m., but discovered additional leakage during their analysis.
