Nisseki Chemical Hires E&C Firm and Begins Plant Expansion Construction in Texas
This expansion includes the construction and duplication of an existing chemical intermediates production unit called ENB (Ethylidene Norbornene) located at the site.

Nisseki Chemical Texas Incorporated (Pasadena, Texas), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Petrochemicals Company Limited (Tokyo, Japan) has hired Aker Kvaerner Industrial Construction (Houston, Texas) as the engineering and construction firm for a major expansion and production unit addition at the companys Pasadena, Texas chemical plant. This nearly $50 million project is the second major expansion of the Pasadena site reported by Industrialinfo.com in the last two years. Civil construction began in late July and as of last week underground piping for firewater systems was underway. Mechanical and related construction activity is planned to begin in September with completion and scheduled startup planned for the fall of 2006.
Nisseki Chemicals Pasadena plant site is relatively small in comparison to its petrochemical plant neighbors in Texas, however the companys reported investments over the past few years are large, approaching $100 million.
