Looking at vertical markets, the Alternative Fuels Industry shows the largest increase in growth with more than $44 billion in active projects for 2007. Explosive growth is occurring in this industry as hundreds of new ethanol and biodiesel plants move forward. One example of the many Alternative Fuels Industry projects scheduled to begin construction this year is America’s Renewable Energy LLC (Quincy, Illinois), a division privately held Ewing Land Development Services (Pella, Iowa), which has received a State of Illinois EPA permit to proceed with construction of a new biodiesel plant that will be located in Quincy, Illinois. The development of these projects will continue to shape the commodities and energy markets in the near future.

After the Alternative Fuels Industry, the Petroleum Refining Industry is the second largest growth industry in 2007 with 195.77% growth measured. The Petroleum Refining Industry is planning to begin construction of more than $22 billion in capital and maintenance projects in 2007. Record profit margins and rising demand have domestic refiners ripe for capacity expansion and modernization projects.
