Nova Scotia's South Canoe Wind Project Now Operational

With a total investment value of $200 million, the project recently wound up and is generating power.

The 102-megawatt windfarm comprises 34 Acciona (Alcobendas, Spain) AW3-3000 wind turbines. It is located in the town of Lunenburg.

The South Canoe project is part of Nova Scotia's renewable energy initiative. It was approved by Nova Scotia's renewable energy administrator in 2012.
