Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--ConocoPhillips UK's Humber Refinery is currently undergoing a planned turnaround on some of its processing units. Moreover, it has scheduled to perform its next major maintenance turnaround in April 2010. ConcoPhillips UK is a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) (Houston, Texas.)
The Humber Refinery, which began its production in 1969, is located in North Lincolnshire and has a crude oil processing capacity of 229,000 barrels per day (BBL/d). Humber is a fully integrated refinery that produces light products and fuel oil. The refinery has a very unusual configuration and is one of the most complex ConocoPhillips' refineries.
The refinery's planned 30 non-production days maintenance turnaround started in mid-April. The turnaround was extended an additional week, and the units are to be restarted on May 22. The shutdown included the following units: Topping 1, Vacuum 1, Vacuum 2, the Dystillate Hydrotreater and the Kerosene Hydrotreater. Also, maintenance work was performed to the Delayed Coker 1, the Thermal Cracker and Calciner 2.
During the second quarter of 2010 ConocoPhillips Humber Refinery will undergo a partial shutdown. Maintenance work, which is scheduled to start in April 2010, is expected to last 30 non-production days. The main units which will be involved are Topping 2, Vacuum 3, Gasoline Hydrotreater, Fluid Catalytic Cracking and Hydrofluoric Alkylation.
