Brazil's state-owned Petrobras is looking to secure investments to reactivate the construction of the Comperj, Itaborai Petrochemical Complex, located in Rio de Janeiro (see map below). The chemical processing project was placed on hold in 2014 due to a lack of investments. Investments now are expected to be secured with the participation of China National Petroleum Corporation, which already is participating in the construction of a natural gas-processing unit located in the same area.
