Pioneer Hi-Bred Constructs Seed Production Facility in Missouri

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Pioneer Hi-Bred International Incorporated (Johnston, Iowa), which is a business unit of DuPont (NYSE:DD) (Wilmington, Delaware), plans to construct a $55 million commercial and parent soybean seed production plant in New Madrid, Missouri. Pioneer plans to construct the facility on a 129-acre site five miles north of New Madrid, near the interchange of Interstate 55 and U.S. Highway 61. The plant will serve soybean growers in southern areas of the United States.
Pioneer plans to begin construction on the facility in the coming months and anticipates full operations in the fall of 2011. The company expects to utilize a host of local and regional suppliers and contractors for the construction.
Last year, Pioneer completed the construction and started up a new seed production facility in Hermiston, Oregon.
