Prime Energy Awards Major Contracts for Malampaya Field in Philippines

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. (Houston, Texas) has awarded Noble Corporation (Sugar Land, Texas) a US$69.9 million contract to drill at least three new wells in the Malampaya Field in the Philippines, using the "Noble Viking" deepwater drillship.

The drilling operations are scheduled to commence in 2025. Additionally, One Subsea (Housong) has been granted a contract for the supply of equipment, including wellheads, control equipment and a subsea production system. This equipment is expected to be delivered by the end of 2024.

Phase IV of the Malampaya project aims to explore and extract new natural gas reserves, following the grant of a 15-year service contract extension until February 2039.
