Record Hill Wind LLC Begins Construction of $120 Million Windfarm Project in Maine

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Record Hill Wind LLC, a subsidiary of Independence Wind LLC (Brunswick, Maine), has began construction of the $120 million, 50-megawatt (MW) Record Hill Windfarm in Roxbury, Maine.

Construction for the project began in October and is scheduled to reach full commercial operation by the summer of 2010. The project will consist of constructing 22 Siemens Power Generation SWT-2.3 MW model wind turbine generators that will be arranged along Flathead Mountain and Partridge Peak ridgelines in Oxford County, near Roxbury. Once operational, the Record Hill project will generate up to 50 MW of renewable energy, which is enough electricity to power nearly 20,000 homes annually.

Reed & Reed Incorporated (Woolwich, Maine) will provide the turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction services for the construction of the project.
