Coal production in Russia's Kemerovo region totaled 220.7 million tons last year, a 11.8% decrease from the 250.1 million tons mined in 2019. The drop in production was caused by the slackening of economic activity due to COVID-19, and the decline in coal prices, which began at the end of 2019.
