SK E&S to Build Large-Scale South Korea Offshore Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--SK E&S (Seoul), the largest renewable energy company in Korea, plans to build a large-scale offshore windfarm in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power, a subsidiary of SK E&S, will kick off a 99-megawatt (MW) fixed offshore windfarm on the coast of Jaeun-myeon, Sinan-gun, in the second half of this year. The company also plans to carry out phase two (399-MW) and phase three (399-MW) projects in the vicinity. They are scheduled to begin construction in October 2024.

To this end, SK E&S recently signed contracts with KT Submarine, Hyundai Electric and Hyundai Steel Industries to source transmission lines, substations and submarine cables.
