Underground Storage LLC Proceeds with Construction of a New Natural Gas Storage Project in Texas

Underground Storage LLC (Houston, Texas), a subsidiary of Texas Brine Company LLC (Houston, Texas), has already begun site preparation for its Pierce Junction natural gas storage project located just south of Reliant Stadium off Reed Road in Houston, Texas. The new natural gas storage project will have a storage capacity of 3 billion cubic feet and will be based on a single existing storage cavern structure. The new facility carries an estimated total capital cost of approximately $25 million to bring into service.

Underground Storage LLC awarded the engineering contract to the Houston office of AMEC Paragon and Houston-based Hanover Company (NYSE:HC) (Houston, Texas) was named as the primary contractor for the project. The scope of the project includes new buildings, surface piping and compression facilities. The compression will be supplied by the installation of two new 3,500 horsepower electric drive compressor packages.

Underground Storage LLC expects to enter into the main construction phase by February of 2005. Completion and in-service status for the new natural gas storage project is slated for some time in June of 2006.
