Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Oconee Nuclear Power Station, which is located in Seneca, South Carolina, began its scheduled refueling outage on Unit 3 on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. The station is owned and operated by Duke Energy Carolinas LLC, a subsidiary of Duke Energy Corporation (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina).
Industrial Info has learned from plant officials that the outage will last approximately 30 days. The plant will undergo other planned maintenance and inspections while the unit is down for refueling.
The three Oconee Nuclear Power Station reactors have a total capacity of 2,538 megawatts (MW) when at full power.
