Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). The University of Kentucky (Lexington, Kentucky) is currently in the planning stages to expand its heating and chiller plant at the Lexington Campus. Plans are to install five 2,500 ton chillers into an existing chiller plant and to install one 100,000 pounds per hour boiler into an existing heating plant to service a new $450 million patient care facility. Staggs & Fisher Consulting Engineers, Incorporated (Lexington, Kentucky) was selected to provide preliminary engineering for the proposed expansion. In addition, Gilbane Building Company (Columbus, Ohio) was awarded the construction management contract for the expansion.

Design will continue through the early summer of 2006, with construction slated to begin in the summer of 2006. An overall completion date is anticipated for the spring of 2007.
