U.S. Sees Record Oil & Gas Production in December - U.S. production of oil and gas set new seasonal records in December, capping off an unprecedented year, according to data published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday. On the oil side, total production of crude and condensates increased to 413 million barrels in December from 376 million barrels in the final month of 2022. Production was running at 13.3 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in December, an increase of 1.2 million BBL/d (10%) from a year earlier. For the year as a whole, output increased to 4,721 million barrels in 2023, up from 4,347 million in 2022. Dry gas production climbed to a seasonal record of 3,300 billion cubic feet (Bcf) in December from 3,107 Bcf a year earlier. For the year as a whole, production hit a record 37,883 Bcf, up from 36,353 Bcf in 2022. (Reuters)
U.S. Drillers Add Rigs - Baker Hughes Company (NASDAQ:BKR) (Houston, Texas) reports that U.S. drillers added three net rigs this week. Oil rigs showed a gain of three to 506. The natural gas rig count declined by one to 119, while miscellaneous rigs rose by one. (Baker Hughes)

U.S. LNG Exports Fall in February on Outage and Fewer Days - A month-long closure at Freeport LNG's (Houston, Texas) liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Texas and fewer days in the month pushed February U.S. LNG exports 7% lower than in January, preliminary data from financial firm LSEG showed on Friday. U.S. exports of the fuel fell to 7.73 million metric tons (MT) in February, down from 8.3 MT in January and a record 8.6 MT shipped in December.
