EnXco to Begin Full Commercial Start-up of $385 Million Minnesota Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--EnXco Incorporated (North Palm Springs, California) has completed construction of the $385 million 205-megawatt (MW) Fenton windfarm project in Chandler, Minnesota.

Construction for the project began in January of this year. EnXco Incorporated anticipates full commercial start-up for Fenton by the end of the month. The project consisted of constructing 137 GE Energy 1.5-(MW) wind turbine generators that are stretched out over 23,000 acres between Murray and Nobles counties. The Fenton windfarm will be the largest wind-energy facility in Minnesota and will add 26% more wind-energy production for the state, which ranks ninth in the U.S. in wind-energy production. The power generated by Fenton will be sold to Northern States Power, a subsidiary of Excel Energy (NYSE:XEL ) (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
