Gray Construction at Work on $9.5 Billion Worth of Projects

The 1.3 million-square-foot plant is expected to begin operating in mid-2023 and employ more than 300 people by 2024. The project is being built near an existing wallboard plant, and the new facility will increase production capacity by 680 million to 700 million square feet per year, bringing Georgia-Pacific's total manufacturing capacity at the site to about 1 billion square feet per year of gypsum products. In Mobile, Alabama, Gray is wrapping up a shipbuilding manufacturing facility expansion for Australian shipbuilder Austal (Henderson). The project kicked off last summer and entails constructing new build sheds of approximately 156,000 square feet to produce steel ships. The facility currently specializes in aluminum ships.
