James Hardie Nears Construction Completion of New Fiber Cement Product Manufacturing Plant in Nevada

Supporting rapid growth for its fiber cement siding products, James Hardie Industries USA (NYSE:JHX)(Mission Viejo, California), a subsidiary of James Hardie Industries Limited (Sydney, Australia) is nearing completion of construction of its newest fiber cement siding manufacturing plant in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in McCarran, Nevada, a suburb located ten miles east of Reno. The company hopes to be up and operating out of its new 360,000 square foot plant in December 2004. Initial production will come from one production line, which will produce and finish fiber cement siding and backerboard product. The large building is sized for capacity expansion in the future, which will include the addition of a second production line.
