Argentina's ENARSA Awards Two Companies Natural Gas Pipeline Project

(Buenos Aires, Argentina) has awarded the construction of the first two sections of natural gas pipeline Gasoducto Noreste Argentino (GNEA) to two companies.

ENARSA SA selected Servicios Vertua (Buenos Aires, Argentina) as the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) company to install the first phase of the pipeline, which will run from the city of Campo Duran to Los Blancos city, in the Province of Salta. The 229-kilometer, 24-inch pipe will transport up to 27.7 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas.

For the second phase of the pipeline, the company has awarded Techint Compania Tecnica Internacional SACI (Buenos Aires) to proceed with detailed engineering, procurement and construction. The 24-inch pipeline will run 303 kilometers from Los Blancos city, Province of Salta, to Ibarreta city in the Province of Formosa.

ENARSA plans to announce the results of the bidding process for the third phase of the project in the next few days. This phase will run from Vera city to Sauce Viejo, in the Province of Santa Fe. The entire project is expected to be operational by the end of 2016.
