Atlas Pipeline to Build $150 Million Natural Gas Processing Plant in Oklahoma

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Atlas Pipeline Mid-Continent LLC (Tulsa, Oklahoma), a business unit of Atlas Pipeline Partners LP (NYSE: APL) (Moon Township, Pennsylvania), is planning to construct a new natural gas processing plant near Bennington, Oklahoma. The proposed project will have an initial natural gas processing capacity of 200 million cubic feet per day and will produce over 10,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids (NGL).

The new cryogenic processing plant will be connected to the main Atlas pipeline system through a pipeline originating from Atlas' existing plant near Velma, Oklahoma, which will be constructed at a future date. Atlas Pipeline-Midcontinent is constructing the plant with the foresight that natural gas production in the Woodford Shale Play is quickly outpacing the existing facility's ability to process out the NGL contained in the very wet gas.

Atlas Pipeline Mid-Continent expects to begin construction on the new processing plant in early 2010. The company expects to have the new plant in service in late 2010 or early 2011 at a capital cost of approximately $150 million.
