Cobisa Corporation (Houston, Texas) a twenty year old company is moving ahead with the first phase of a two phase 1,750-megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired combined-cycle (C-C) power plant thanks in part to the cancellation of eight new coal fired units planned by TXU Corporation (NYSE:TXU) (Dallas, Texas). The proposed development in Hunt County near Greenville, Texas is having more positive feedback according to Cobisa Vice President, Gregory Platt, due to the growing need for clean power. The Greenville Project is a twin to its Forney Project in Kaufman County near Forney, Texas, which came online in 2003 and is currently owned by FPL Energy.
