Construction Underway at Innergex's Canada Upper Lillooet Hydro Project

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Construction is underway on Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.'s (Longueil, Quebec) British Columbia) Upper Lillooet Hydro Project in Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada. The project includes two run-of-river hydropower plants in the Pemberton Valley, including the 74-megawatt (MW) Upper Lillooet hydro plant and the 27-MW Boulder Creek hydro plant.

Site preparation started this summer on the Upper Lillooet plant, with project completion scheduled for the end of 2016. This facility includes four 18.5-MW Andritz horizontal Francis hydro turbines, buried high pressure steel penstocks, 230-kilovolt (kV) breakers, transformer and a powerhouse. Construction started in the fall of 2013 at the Boulder Creek site, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2016. This facility also consists of Andritz Pelton hydro turbines, with direct-coupled generators with a D-shaped tunnel, lateral intake structure and other major equipment.

Westpark Electric (Chilliwack, British Columbia) is constructing a 230-kV transmission line and substation on this site.
