Exxon Places Winning Bid for Papua New Guinea LNG Company - Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) (Irving, Texas) placed a winning bid of $2.5 billion for InterOil Corporation, a gas explorer focused in Papua New Guinea. Exxon beat out rival bids from Oil Search Limited and Total SA (NYSE:TOT), which have three days to counter Exxon's offer.

U.K. Gas Storage Outage Means More Winter Imports - As one of the U.K.'s largest gas storage sites is shut down for tests until Spring 2017, analysts expect that the country will need to import up to 1.75 billion cubic meters of additional gas this winter.
