However, Energia Sustentavel announced that it expects to receive a definitive installation license by the beginning of June. The plant will have 44 75-MW hydraulic turbine generators, of which Alstom SA (EPA:ALO) (Levallois-Perret, France) will supply 10 bulb-type turbines and 17 generators. The station, along with the Santo Antonio Hydropower Plant, is part of the 6,450-MW Madeira River Complex, a project with a total investment value of $9.8 billion. The complex, located in the state of Rondonia, is considered essential by the Brazilian government in order to help the country meet its power demand by 2013.
