CRUDE OIL
U.S. Exports More Crude Oil Than Saudi Arabia - The U.S. briefly surpassed Saudi Arabia in the amount of crude exported. Surging output from shale helped the U.S. ship almost 9 million barrels a day of crude and oil products in June, surpassing Saudi Arabia, the International Energy Agency said in a report, citing gross export figures. (Houston Chronicle)
Equinor to Sell Two New Crude Grades from North Sea Fields - Norway's Equinor (NYSE:EQNR) has started selling new crude grades from two new oilfields in the British North Sea where the combined production is expected to reach nearly half a million barrels per day in 2020, senior company executives said. The company started production from the Mariner field in mid-August, while output from Johan Sverdrup, the largest North Sea discovery in more than three decades, is expected to start in October. The new medium and heavy crude grades with slightly higher sulfur content could fill the market's need for heavier oil after U.S. sanctions on Venezuela, Iran and production cuts by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries tightened supply globally. (Reuters)
POWER
Company Secures Financing for Texas Solar Farm - Solar power company 174 Power Global announced it has received $210 million of construction financing for the first phase of a 150-megawatt solar farm near Odessa, Texas. The facility, which will be known as Oberon, will span more than 1,200 acres and use more than 560,000 solar panels. (Project 300448813) (Houston Chronicle)
