H.T. Hackney's Florida Distribution Center Set for Summer Completion

Hackney Company (Knoxville, Tennessee) is halfway through construction of a new distribution center in the Santa Rosa County Industrial Park in Milton, Florida. When completed this summer, the company will quadruple its regional operation and add 50 employees.

Groundbreaking was held last summer on the 29-acre site. The state-of-the-art, 150,000-square-foot building will include freezer/cooler and dry warehouse space, as well as administrative office space. Rentenbach Construction Incorporated (Knoxville, Tennessee) was retained as the general contractor for the project. RCS Company of Tampa (Tampa, Florida) will install the refrigeration system. Architectural services and site civil design were provided by Gresham Smith and Partners (Alpharetta, Georgia) and Jehle-Halstead Incorporated (Pensacola, Florida), respectively.

Operating from the company's current 35,000-square-foot center in Pensacola, H.T. Hackney will expand its operations by relocating to the new $10 million site in Milton, where it will distribute milk, ice cream, groceries, snacks, water, juices and tobacco products to stores in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana.
