Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The 34,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) IPLOM Refinery in Genoa, Italy, will undergo a planned maintenance turnaround in mid-October. The Italian complex is owned and operated by IPLOM SpA (Genoa).
The shutdown, scheduled to start October 12, will affect all the processing units in the refinery's three areas and is expected to last 12 days. The turnaround will affect the Crude Topping Unit, the Vacuum, the 10,000 BBL/d Visbreaker and the Reformer unit, among others. The refinery's maintenace department plans to release the final turnaround's details by mid-September.
Overhauls at the refinery take place every one to two years, depending on the processes demands, and generally last 15 to 20 days. The last major shutdown was in October last year.
IPLOM is a small refinery located in the northwestern countryside of Italy, near Genoa Harbor. The complex manufactures fuel products, including diesel, fuel oil, and liquid CO2 for soft drinks.
