Johnson Controls Plans $100 Million Recycling Center in South Carolina

Plans are to construct an approximately 200,000-square-foot building and parking lot on 36 acres of a 270-acre site located on Paper Mill Road. The facility will allow the company to provide closed-loop, automotive-battery recycling operations. The remaining acreage will remain undeveloped. The company is currently awaiting final permits and approvals for the new plant. An engineering firm will be selected this fall, and a general contractor will be selected by the spring of next year.
