The front-end engineering design (FEED) of the grassroot project was in the hands of SAGA Engenharia (Cerquerira Cesar, Sao Paulo), which completed detailed engineering for the project in 2013. Lord also completed land preparation, and is finishing up the construction of access roads with local constructor Osmetro Construcoes (Jundiai).
In August, a civil constructor will be selected to begin the construction of the foundations and premises of the new adhesives and coatings site, which will have a 10,200-square-meter area and a capacity of 600 metric tons per day, doubling the production of the currently operational plant in Jundiai. The companies that will perform the mechanical and electrical installations are to be selected during the last quarter of 2014.
The Jundiai plant will cease operations at the end of 2015. All salvage equipment will be moved to Itupeva during the first quarter of 2016, so that the new site can be fully operational by mid-2016 as planned. Lord soon will select a company to dismantle Jundiai during the first quarter of 2015.
The new factory will have enough space to allow successive expansions that will support the growth of the company in the structural adhesives and high-performance coatings market for the next 20 years.
